SAMI 2023
The IEEE 21st World Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI 2023) was successfully held on 19-21 January.
The Technical University of Košice hosted the SAMI 2023 conference in Herl'any, Slovakia, which provides a high-level scientific platform in the field of computational intelligence and smart technologies, with the support of the IEEE international engineering association.
At the opening event, the Óbuda University and the Technical University of Košice (TUKE) were represented at the highest level, with Prof. Ing. Stanislav Kmeť, DrSc., Rector of TUKE, Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of ÓE, doc. Ing. Ladislav Főző, PhD, Deputy Dean and prof. Ing. Rudolf Andoga, PhD., Chairman of the Conference Programme Committee.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the SAMI series, Prof. Dr. Imre Rudas, the founder of the conference, gave a comprehensive presentation on the key events and highlights of the two decades.
Prof. Pasquale Palumbo: A Mathematical Model of the G1/S Transition for the Budding Yeast, Prof. Anthony John Gall and Prof. István Kistelegdi: Sensitivity Analysis of Building Comfort and Energy Design, Dr. Okyay Kaynak: Engineering Education at the Age of Industry and Dr. Matús Pleva: What Behavioral Signals could be Used to Identify Users? After his plenary presentation, the papers submitted and accepted for the conference were presented in ten sessions.
The Doctoral School of Applied Informatics and Applied Mathematics of Óbuda University presented its activities in a special session.
The peer review of publications is greatly supported by the close relationship with the IEEE, as a result of which the papers presented are eligible for inclusion in the Xplore database.
The Baltazár Frankovic Prize, founded by the Budapest University of Technology and the Hungarian Fuzzy Society, will be awarded in memory of one of the founders of the SAMI series, to honour young researchers. This year it was awarded to Dominik Vranay and Máté Siket.
