The IEEE HS president is once again the Rector of the OU

The Association of Electrical Engineers in Hungary (VME) held its annual general meeting under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, president of the association. At the event on 5 May, the President stressed the success of the joint work of Obuda University and the engineering association, which is reflected in a significant increase in membership of around 30 percent.

The Hungarian chapter (HS) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the VME, with which Obuda University has a close partnership. They jointly organise international scientific conferences and symposia. At the general assembly, the members of the association adopted the professional report and work plan of the president as well as the financial and economic report.



Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, President of the VME, Rector of Obuda University, evaluated the last year and emphasized that the professional events were successfully organized as planned, and the number of members of the VME increased from 414 to 542. This increase shows the active nature of the engineering association. The management of Obuda University continues to encourage researchers, teachers and students of the university to become members of the IEEE.





At the General Assembly, the election of the Board of Directors took place: Prof. Dr. Imre Rudas, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, presented the candidates for the leadership position. According to the results of the secret ballot, Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács was re-elected President of the IEEE Hungary Section for 2024-2025, Dr. Dániel András Drexler was elected Vice President, Dr. Szilveszter Kovács was elected Secretary, and Anikó Szakál was elected Finance Officer.
