The aim of the Óbuda University dormitories is to enable university studies primarily for students coming from the rural areas of Hungary, who are entitled and worthy based on their academic results, social status and community work. They also accommodate international students in limited number. Proof or certification of accommodation will be a requirement for residence permits.

Óbuda University student housing provides accommodation and offers students comfortable living spaces, convenient learning conditions, sporting and recreational activities. Rooms are fully furnished with all basic amenities and equipped with Wi-Fi internet access.

The dormitories have a network of so called “member colleges” which are located in the different parts of the city, mainly close to the faculties. The operational tasks are carried out by the direction of the Heads of the Member Colleges and with the participation of the Student Union of the Member Colleges. This practice provides students with problem solving skills and prepares them for their lives beyond the University.

Bánki Donát Dormitory

Address: H-1065 Budapest, Podmaniczky utca 8.

Type: a 4-story building with 2, 4 and 6 bed-rooms.

Location: on the Pest side of the city downtown, near Nyugati square

Public transport: excellent – trams, buses, underground, train.

Number of places: 112.

Facilities: an adequate number of showers, washbasins, toilets, kitchenettes on each floor, as well as a microwave, an automatic washing machine, a tumble dryer and ironing facilities. All rooms have Internet and cable TV connection, as well as a refrigerator. The building also has a gym, a study room, table tennis facilities, a central computer room, Wifi and several cultural rooms with satellite TV connections.

Guest room: available on a diligent basis, taking into account the possibilities of the dormitory. For this purpose, one triple room with toilets is available. The vacant places of the dormitory are used during the summer mainly for tourism and for exchange tourism.

There are 2 guest places during the academic year (2 rooms). There is a private bathroom and toilet for the rooms.

Hotel@BMF Student Hostel

Address: H-1084 Budapest, Tavaszmező utca 7-13.

Type: a 4-storey building with 2 and 3-bed accommodation units and 2 + 2-bed apartments (built in 2007)

Location: on the Pest side, 8th district

Public transport: excellent – trams, buses within walking distance.

Number of places: 390.

Facilities: All units have Internet and internal telephone connection, as well as a private kitchen (cooking appliances and microwave, and a refrigerator), as well as a toilet and a bathroom. There are 4 automatic washing machines for student use in the laundry room next to the reception, and 1-1 on three floors. There are also study rooms in the building. Students with a car or motorbike can use the closed car park and the underground garage for a fee.

Canteen: There is a restaurant with a menu and à la carte dishes.

Guest room: There are 4 two-bed and 3 three-bed guest room. These rooms have all comfort and air-conditioned, reservation is needed.

Kandó Kálmán Dormitory

Address: H-1034 Budapest, Bécsi út 104.

Type: The 6-storey building, reopened in 2019, has 2 and 3-bed rooms and apartments.

Location: 3rd district, a 3-minute walk away from the Buda Campus.

Public transport: trams, buses within walking distance.

Number of places: 390.

Facilities: Each room has a kitchenette (microwave, kettle, and fridge) and a bathroom. There are at least 2 study rooms on each floor, and a larger club room on the 6th floor, where smaller events and parties can be held. In addition, there is a larger kitchen (with cooking and baking facilities) and a laundry room (with washing, drying and ironing facilities) on each level.

Guest room: 11 two-bed rooms, all comfort with air-conditioning. Reservation is needed.

Kiss Árpád Dormitory

Address: H-1034 Budapest, Doberdó út 6/A

Type: There are 39 student rooms with 2-3 beds on the 5 upper floors

Number of places: 116.

Facilities: Each level has a shared kitchen (accessories: microwave, grill, electric hob, sink) and shared water blocks (3-4 showers, 3 toilets, 1 washing machine, 1 clothes dryer).

The rooms have a washbasin, fridge and 1 RJ45 wall socket for wired Internet access. There is a wifi service in the building, which our students can use with their Neptune code. For wired access, it is advisable to purchase a switch, as it is not currently part of the room, and it is forbidden to operate a router in all buildings of the university for this purpose.

Offices and a study room are located on the 2nd floor of the dormitory.

Community life: An integral part of the community life of the fellow students is the clubhouse called “The Ark”, the furnishing and equipment of which is the result of their work.

Canteen: There is a restaurant on the ground floor of our dormitory, which satisfies all needs with its varied offer.

Geo Dormitory

Address: H-8000 Székesfehérvár, Hosszúsétatér 8.

Type: The rooms have 2, 3 or 4 beds.

Location: in Székesfehérvár, close to the Alba Regia Technical Faculty.

Number of places: 170.

Facilities: In most cases two rooms have a shower, the other rooms have a shared shower. There is a well-equipped kitchen and laundry room on each floor.

Community life: There is a large function room in the building, and a gym and music room in the basement. Located in a quiet, suburban area, the dormitory, with its landscaped courtyard and paved spot, provides pleasant opportunities for students who want to study, relax and play sports.

Guest rooms: 12 guest places with shared bathroom and toilet.

Community life typical in dormitories:

In addition to providing accommodation, the dormitory also considers it important to organize the community life of the students. Each dormitory has monthly events and gatherings, such as small parties, cooking, music evenings, and more. Each dormitory has special, local events that move a larger crowd. Moreover, there are events that affect all dormitories, such as leadership trainings, certain camps, trips.
