Course Description:
The semester task aims to develop more professional skills in urban context while analyzing, preserving, and revitalizing a chosen site in Budapest where the focus will be on the main factors of urban design: Topography, Landscape, and Environment. Develop skill of endeavours to solve problems with a process oriented system approach in a creative manner; able to switch between intuition and knowledge based approaches, when necessary.

Competences:
able to comprehensively handle aesthetic, functional, technical, economic, social and legal expectations throughout the design process

Topics:
14 WEEKS SCHEDULE:
1. week: Lecture about urban design and principles of shaping and order / Introduction of the semester assignment and site / Visiting the site with the group 
2.  week: Studio Consultation for the semester assignment / Inspiring Urban Design Project 
3. week: Studio Consultation for the semester assignment 
4. week: Site analysis and assessment 
5. week: Typologies of residential, business, cultural blocks. Formation of spaces for pedestrians, parks, roads and parking lots / Studio Consultation for the semester assignment 
6. week: Studio Consultation for the semester assignment 
7. week: Studio Consultation for the semester assignment 
8. week: Studio Consultation for the semester assignment 
9. week: Concept / Idea / Conceptual Urban Design proposal 
10. week: Studio Consultation for the semester assignment 
11. week: Studio Consultation for the semester assignment 
12. week: Studio Consultation for the semester assignment 
13. week: Final Urban Design project presentation and submission 

Assessment: First-term, Mid-term and Final project assignment in front of a jury. Each presentation will be graded with points, and all these points will be added together + participation in studio sessions and give the final grade after the Final assignment.
