Course Description:
Aims: to obtain understanding and knowledge the design and working of different analog and digital circuits. Topics to be covered: bipolar transistors, field effect transistors, operational amplifiers, passive filters, switching mode.

Passive filters. Active filters using opamps. Feedback and oscillator theory.
RC oscillators, Wien bridge oscillator, Twin-T oscillator
Multivibrators
Differential amplifiers
Multi-stage transistor amplifiers
Power (end-stage) amplifiers, amplifier classes
Operational amplifier applications. Voltage and current references, regulators. Dissipative voltage regulators. Thermal resistance and heatsinks.
Switching mode power supplies. DC-DC step-down, step-up, hybrid converters. AC-DC supplies.

Introduction, safety lecture, overview of instruments
Multivibrators
Tuned analog circuits
Symmetric (differential) amplifiers
Linear applications of operational amplifiers
Power amplifiers
Time for repeating or finishing measurements

Assessment: Participation on laboratories is mandatory and lab reports have to be submitted and accepted in order to be eligible for the exam. The laboratory sessions have to be finished before the exam period.
