General Assembly of IEEE Hungary Section
Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Section Chair of IEEE Hungary Section conducted the General Assembly of IEEE Hungary Section on September 10, 2020.
All participants followed the strict instructions regarding pandemic, and they wore face mask and kept the social distance. Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Section Chair (2017-2020) gave a report of the last four years, he summarized the achievements of the international conferences and student contests, he emphasized the establishment of two new chapters and proudly highlighted the IEEE Awards. Also, he underlined the strong and active cooperation with Region8.
Positions of members of the current board will be terminated at the end of 2020, so it was necessary to vote for the new board members. Prof. Dr. Péter Kádár, Chair of Nomination Committee, previous Section Chair introduced the applicants, then HS participants voted for the new board members who till take over the position from January 1, 2021, with Dr. Tamás Haidegger, Chair, Dr. Dániel András Drexler, Vice-Chair, Dr. Zsolt Csaba Johanyák, Secretary and Anikó Szakál, Treasurer.
Dr. Tamás Haidegger introduced his thoughts and ideas about the involvement in international scientific area, his activity and different roles in IEEE Societies and boards, and his efforts to search for new directions into strong, effective and beneficial co-operations.
