Obuda University Collaborates with Wuxi High-Tech Zone to Establish a High-Tech Innovation Center
On November 4, Obuda University signed an agreement with the Wuxi High-Tech Zone in China to collaborate on creating a high-tech innovation center focused on joint innovation and business development programs. The initiative aligns closely with the "New Silk Road Program," which involves participation from both the Hungarian and Chinese governments as well as dozens of other countries.
“Our cooperation with the Wuxi High-Tech Zone presents significant, long-term opportunities for talent exchange and the development of a technology transfer mechanism, which will greatly enhance research and development at Obuda University,” emphasized Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, the university’s Rector. He added that a primary goal of this partnership is to promote innovation, research, and industrialization opportunities through joint research initiatives and the establishment of laboratories. Additionally, Obuda University aims to explore the potential for a China-Hungary Innovation Center platform. “We also place great importance on attracting international students through exchange programs and fostering the training of domestic talent through tailored projects,” Prof. Dr. Kovács noted.
The agreement, signed by Gu Guodong, Deputy Director of Wuxi High-Tech Zone, and Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, falls under the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, supporting technological and talent exchanges between China and Hungary. The agreement establishes a long-term framework for technological cooperation, significantly aiding industry-university-research collaboration and the advancement of technological outcomes. The university’s research and development environment will play a pivotal role in facilitating this implementation.
