Visit of Portuguese academics and students to University Research and Innovation Center at Obuda University
A delegation from the Technical University of Santarém, Portugal, arrived on 18 October to study the teaching and research methods of Obuda University. The group visited the University Research and Innovation Centre as part of their Skills 4 Covid project.
During the visit of a delegation of five lecturers and twelve students from Instituto Politécnico De Santarém to the laboratory of the Antal Bejczy Center for Intelligent Robotics (IROB), Prof. Dr. Tamás Haidegger, Director General of the EKIK, introduced the Obuda University and described the activities of the research centre and the future-oriented projects of the researchers. Kristóf Takács presented the work of the Antal Bejczy Center for Intelligent Robotics , through past and ongoing projects, with a special focus on surgical robotics research in his field and the recently completed European Union RoBUTCHER project. During the visit, the guests were able to try out the da Vinci surgical robot system, which is unique in Hungary for its research purposes, and to see a pathological glass plate sorting robot and a spinal surgery robot application in operation. Both the visitors and the hosts found the meeting to be fruitful, which could lead to closer links between the institutions.
