The University has been involved in the SH program since its inception, and we are happy to see that the number of students applying increases every year – as it was highlighted at the meeting. The geographical distribution of applicants is very diverse, as students now come to Óbuda University from more than 54 countries. All faculties of ÓE offer students degree programs, the number of which has increased year by year, explained Rector Kovács.
He also called the promotion of the program a priority task, the best example of which is the knowledge and technology center handed over in Nairobi on March 7 in the presence of Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament László Kövér.
The program provides an opportunity for the university to realize the internationalization goals and professional developments set out in its Institutional Development Plan. This includes the resources provided by the government, as well as the professional help and coordination of the Tempus Public Foundation - added the rector, who said that the SH program will continue to occupy a prominent place in the future in strengthening the international relations of Óbuda University.
According to Rector Kovács the presence of foreign students enriches the life of Óbuda University. An international community was created, which provides an intercultural environment for both foreign and Hungarian students. Educating students from different cultures is a challenge and a development opportunity for instructors, the rector said.
