Entrepreneurship Academy Celebrates the Successful Completion of Its First Cohort

The first cohort (Cohort #1) of Obuda University’s innovative entrepreneurship development programme came to a close with a festive Pitch Day, where participants presented their final projects. The young talents pitched the project concepts they had developed during the four-month programme to a professional jury and investors.

Obuda University is committed to helping its students turn their ideas into reality and to fostering the creation of successful startups. In this spirit, the Entrepreneurship Academy was launched with the involvement of the university’s venture capital company, Obuda Uni Venture Capital (OUVC), and under the leadership of Martin Olczyk. The initiative is the first university-based programme in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated specifically to preparing the startup founders of the future.

The programme builds a direct bridge between entrepreneurship education, the business world, investors, mentors and real-life startup experience. At the Pitch Day that concluded the programme, participants presented the ideas they had developed over four months of intensive work to the professional jury and the investors in attendance.

The event was followed by the second BudapestConnect, organised in cooperation with MeOut Group, which gave the new generation of entrepreneurs an excellent opportunity to connect directly with the wider Hungarian and international startup and investor community.

Rector Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács emphasised that the success of the Entrepreneurship Academy, which attracted both Obuda University students and young people from other institutions, reinforces the university’s mission. He added that Obuda University must introduce entrepreneurial skills early in its programmes, helping students build investment-ready startups. The programme’s openness reflects the university’s vision of becoming a fourth-generation university that creates direct and meaningful social impact through innovation.

Imre Hild, CEO of OUVC, also highlighted the importance of the programme. He noted that the Entrepreneurship Academy bridges the gap between technological expertise and the practical skills needed to build a startup. For OUVC, the programme is a source of promising university ventures that the company helps develop further and may invest in in the future.

Following the success of the first cohort, applications for the Entrepreneurship Academy’s second cohort will open soon.
