ICCSE 2026 Conference: Obuda University at the Forefront of International Science
Obuda University co-organized the 20th International Conference on Computer Science and Education (ICCSE 2026), one of the leading international scientific forums in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, and education. The conference was held in Budapest in the final days of July 2026, organized in cooperation with Chinese universities and the Chinese Association for Research in Computer Education.
Hosted by Obuda University with the technical support of the IEEE Hungary Section, the conference welcomed researchers representing institutions from 12 countries. Marking its 20th anniversary, the event brought together hundreds of researchers, educators, and industry professionals from around the world to discuss some of the most important issues shaping digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and the future of education. This year’s central theme was “AI-Driven Educational Digital Innovation along the Belt and Road.”
The conference program featured scientific presentations, thematic workshops, invited plenary lectures, poster sessions, and panel discussions. Participants had the opportunity to explore the latest developments in areas including machine learning, deep learning, large language models, generative artificial intelligence, digital learning, learning analytics, and the educational and societal applications of AI.
ICCSE 2026, however, was not only a forum for presenting scientific achievements, but also provided an outstanding opportunity to establish new international collaborations and strengthen existing partnerships. A number of bilateral professional meetings took place during the conference, contributing to the expansion of international cooperation in higher education and research.
Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of Obuda University, held discussions with Prof. Dr. Mehmet Saltan, Rector of Suleyman Demirel University in Türkiye. The meeting focused on the future of European higher education cooperation, the role of institutions within European university alliances, and opportunities for collaboration through the Union of Turkic Universities. The two institutions reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening their partnership, particularly through new research projects, student and staff mobility programs, and other international initiatives.
For Obuda University, hosting the conference also represents recognition of the institution’s active and significant role in international scientific and higher education cooperation. The event not only further strengthened the position of Budapest and Hungary on the global innovation map, but also opened new opportunities for joint initiatives involving academia, industry, and international partners.
