Excellence

The Pannonia Scholarship Programme provides an opportunity for outstanding Master’s and Doctoral students to undertake a study period of 1–6 months at one of the universities ranked among the top 250 in the QS World University Rankings and/or the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

Under the current Call for Applications, students may apply for funding for the following mobility activities to be carried out during the Spring Semester of 2027:

  • Student Mobility for Studies (exchange studies)
  • Study Visits

Studies completed at the host institution must be fully recognized and incorporated into the student’s academic programme (e.g. through credit recognition).

Application Deadline

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis; however, they must be submitted no later than three months before the planned start date of the mobility, taking into account the nomination deadlines of the host institution.

The staff of the International Mobility Office and the Faculty Coordinators are available to assist applicants with any professional questions related to the preparation of their applications.

Grant Amount

The scholarship amount depends on the host country and the duration of the mobility.

Under the Excellence Scholarship scheme, the following monthly grant amounts are available:

Group I – HUF 500,000/month

Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Macao, Singapore, Taiwan, Andorra, Israel, Monaco

Group II – HUF 475.000/month

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, North Macedonia, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Syria, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Laos, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Yemen, Russia, Ukraine

Group III – HUF 450.000/month

Please note that the scholarship may only be awarded for periods of physical mobility and only for the duration of the mobility period.

Applicants are advised that the scholarship may not cover all expenses incurred during their stay abroad. Additional financial resources may be required, and some expenses may need to be paid in advance.

Additional Financial Support

Accommodation and Travel Support

In addition to the Excellence Scholarship, scholarship holders may apply for accommodation and travel support based on actual costs incurred. The amount of additional support is determined individually after assessing the expected expenses.

Accommodation Support

Accommodation support is subject to financial reporting and must be documented with:

  • a copy of the rental agreement indicating accommodation costs and the duration of the accommodation period;
  • proof of payment related to accommodation costs (invoices and payment/transfer confirmations).

Travel Support

Travel support may cover the cost of one round-trip journey between:

  • the location of the sending institution or the student’s place of residence, and
  • the city of the host institution.

Travel expenses must be documented with:

  • invoices and receipts for the actual travel costs incurred;
  • travel documents indicating the dates of travel (e.g. tickets, boarding passes, etc.).

Tuition Fee Support

Students participating in mobility under the Excellence Scholarship may apply for support towards tuition fees charged by the host institution.

The amount of tuition fee support is determined based on the actual tuition fee.

Financial reporting for tuition fee support requires:

  • a copy of the agreement concluded with the host institution indicating the tuition fee amount;
  • proof of payment of the tuition fee (invoices and payment/transfer confirmations).
