University of Szeged Joins Kenya Mission to Promote Its Academic Programmes

Obuda University, the University of Szeged and ACPM IT Zrt. have signed a letter of intent under which the University of Szeged will join the operation of the Nairobi office already maintained by Obuda University and ACPM IT Zrt.

Under the letter of intent signed by representatives of Obuda University, the University of Szeged (SZTE) and ACPM IT Zrt., the University of Szeged will also join the operation of the office maintained by the parties in Nairobi, with the aim of promoting its academic programmes in the East African region. The primary objectives of the strategic partnership are to enhance the international visibility of Hungarian higher education and to recruit students not only from Kenya, but also from Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia. In the longer term, the two higher education institutions also intend to expand towards West Africa, building on trusted relationships established with local schools and educational agencies.



Representing both universities, the Nairobi office will be responsible for promoting academic programmes, providing information in English, carrying out regional marketing activities and offering administrative support to prospective applicants. The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr Zoltán Rajnai, Vice-Rector General of Obuda University; Prof. Dr Péter Zakar, Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Public Relations of the University of Szeged; and Márton Miklós, Chief Executive Officer of ACPM IT Zrt. Among those representing Obuda University at the event and during the negotiations were Dr Marcel Pop, Director General for International Affairs, and Eszter Turopoli, Deputy Director General for International Affairs.
