A Celebratory Graduation – the New Generation of Engineers has Set Out

Following the winter final examination period, all seven faculties of Óbuda University held their ceremonial graduation events. As part of the series of ceremonies, 1,246 newly graduated students received their well-deserved diplomas in the presence of their family members, friends, and university faculty. At the ceremonies, alongside the university leadership, distinguished industry partners also congratulated the graduates, highlighting the value of the knowledge acquired at Óbuda University and the societal importance of the engineering profession.

Alba Regia Faculty

For the first time, a winter graduation ceremony was held at our university’s Alba Regia Faculty. At the Székesfehérvár campus, diplomas were awarded in the following programs: land surveying and land management engineering, mechanical engineering, geoinformatics, engineering informatics, technical management, sports economics, electrical engineering, mechatronical engineering, precision agricultural engineering, geoinformatics engineering, and industrial robotics engineering.



At the ceremonial event, Deputy Mayor Attila Mészáros emphasized that the presence, operation, and continuous development of the institution are vital for both the present and the future of the city. He highlighted that the students earned diplomas that provide both strong professional and theoretical knowledge, while also offering nationally unique practical opportunities through the dual education system. On behalf of Rector Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Dr. habil. Viktória Sugár, Vice-Rector, congratulated the graduates. In her speech, she emphasized that, alongside the students’ hard work and perseverance, the friendships and professional connections formed here will become the supportive network that accompanies them throughout their entire careers.



Prof. Dr. György Györök, Dean of the Faculty, noted that the university character of the Székesfehérvár faculty continues to strengthen; engineers, agricultural engineering specialists, IT professionals, and economists are all trained at both bachelor’s and master’s levels. He described the mission of the newly graduated engineers as embracing an innovative mindset and contributing to making the world a better place.

 



The graduates took their oath under the guidance of Levente Farkas. They were then greeted by Dorottya Csóka, President of the Student Union, while Balázs Máté reflected on the past years on behalf of the graduating students.

Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering



Once again, we witnessed touching moments as we welcomed the newly graduated students of our Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering. The event served as a fitting conclusion to years of hard work and perseverance.



At the ceremony, the graduates were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Zoltán Rajnai, Vice-Rector for General Affairs, and Dr. habil. Tibor Farkas, Acting Dean. As part of the event, diplomas were awarded to our bachelor’s graduates in safety engineering, mechanical engineering, and mechatronics engineering, as well as to our master’s graduates in mechanical engineering and mechatronics engineering. A total of 21 students received special recognition and commemorative gifts in acknowledgement of their outstanding academic achievements.

Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering

At our Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering, we also welcomed the graduates of the bachelor’s and master’s programs, as well as those completing postgraduate specialist training programs.



Graduates of the Hungarian- and English-taught Electrical Engineering BSc and Electrical Engineering MSc programs, as well as Energy Management Specialist Engineers and Advisors, have successfully met the high quality standards. Students completing the Public Education Leadership and Teacher Professional Examination postgraduate program, along with participants in the BSc Vocational Instructor and MSc Engineering Teacher training programs, also fulfilled the program requirements with distinction.



At the ceremonial event, the diplomas were presented by Prof. Dr. habil. Róbert Szabolcsi, Dean, and Prof. Dr. László Gulácsi, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.

Keleti Károly Faculty of Business and Management

In the morning session, graduates of the Commerce and Marketing BSc, Technical Management BSc, and Business Development MSc programs received their diplomas, while the afternoon ceremony celebrated graduates of the Business and Management BSc, Business Informatics BSc, Business and Management FOSZK, and Business Informatics FOSZK programs.



The event placed special emphasis on recognizing excellence. Eight graduates received the Keleti Award in acknowledgment of their outstanding academic achievements and exemplary thesis defenses.



Prof. Dr. Enikő Maior, Vice-Rector for Education, Prof. Dr. Mónika Garai-Fodor, Dean of the Faculty, and Márton Rónai, President of the Faculty’s Student Union, welcomed the graduates in ceremonial speeches, offering parting thoughts and inspiring messages to guide them into the next stage of their professional careers.

John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics

The persistent efforts of recent years have borne fruit for the graduates of our John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics as well.



Prof. Dr. György Eigner, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Péter Galambos, Vice-Rector for Innovation, welcomed the newly graduated students, who successfully completed their studies and officially became full members of their profession.



At the graduation ceremony, our students received their diplomas in the following programs: Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Business Informatics, and Engineering Informatics MSc; Engineering Informatics and Industrial Engineering–Informatics BSc; as well as in the postgraduate specialist programs in Cybersecurity and Medical Device Manufacturing and Distribution – Quality and Compliance Assurance Specialist Engineering.

Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering

Graduation ceremonies are standout occasions in the life of the university community, as they not only recognize the efforts of the graduates but also celebrate the collective achievements of faculty and family members. These events mark a symbolic transition from university life to professional practice and reinforce Óbuda University’s mission: to produce well-prepared, responsible professionals who contribute to building the future through their knowledge and values.



Creativity, engineering knowledge, and future-shaping talent—these qualities define the graduates of the Sándor Rejtő Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering. At the graduation ceremony, Dr. habil. László Koltai, Dean, and Prof. Dr. Zoltán Rajnai, Vice-Rector for General Affairs, welcomed the students and their families. This year, diplomas were awarded to graduates of the Light Industry Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Industrial Product and Design Engineering BSc programs, as well as the Process Development Specialist Engineer/Professional postgraduate program.



Ybl Miklós Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering

At the Miklós Ybl Faculty of Architecture and Engineering, students who successfully completed their final examinations received their diplomas in the following programs: Infrastructure Civil Engineering MSc, Structural Civil Engineering MSc, Civil Engineering BSc, and Architecture BSc.



The newly graduated students were welcomed by Dr. habil. Viktória Sugár, Vice-Rector for Sustainability and Strategic Developments, Prof. Dr. Gábor Csanády, Vice-Dean for Education, Dr. Erika Janurikné Soltész, and Dr. László Szücs, Institute Directors.



At the ceremony, students who demonstrated outstanding performance were specially recognized with the Ybl Diploma, while architecture students who submitted exceptional theses were awarded the Gyula Kolbenheyer Diploma Prize. To conclude the event, Associate Professor Klára Macsinka, Head of the Civil Engineering Program, offered parting thoughts to the graduates, while Assistant Lecturer Anett Mizsei, Year Coordinator for the Architecture BSc program, summarized the results and achievements of their collaborative efforts over the past years.
