A New Generation of Engineers Graduates – Our Students Receive Their Degrees
More than 1,300 students graduated from Obuda University in the 2025/2026 academic year and received their degrees at graduation ceremonies held across the University’s faculties. These events represent important milestones in the life of our community, celebrating not only the dedication and achievements of our graduates, but also the shared efforts of faculty members and families who supported them throughout their studies. Graduation marks a symbolic transition from university life to the professional world and reinforces Obuda University’s mission: to educate highly qualified and responsible professionals who will help shape the future through their knowledge and values.
Alba Regia Faculty
A total of 65 students graduating from programs in Land Surveying and Land Management Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geoinformatics, Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Assistance, Mechatronics Engineering, Engineering Management, Sports Economics, Electrical Engineering, Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operation, and Geoinformatics took their professional oath, marking the beginning of the next stage of their careers.
At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Zoltán Rajnai, Vice-Rector General; Prof. Dr. György Györök, Dean; Attila Mészáros, Deputy Mayor; and Dorottya Csóka, President of the Student Union, welcomed the graduating engineers and economists.
Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering
The newest graduates of the Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering also received their degrees at a formal graduation ceremony. A total of 128 young engineers successfully completed their university studies. At bachelor’s level, 88 students graduated in Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Military and Safety Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.
At master’s level, 40 students received degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Safety Engineering, and Defence Industry Engineering.
The degrees were presented to the graduates by Dr. habil. Tibor Farkas, Dean of the Faculty. The ceremonial presidium also included Prof. Dr. Zoltán Rajnai, Vice-Rector General; Prof. Dr. Tünde Kovács, Vice-Dean for Education; Dr. Richárd Horváth, Vice-Dean for Research; and Regő Rédei, President of the Faculty’s Student Union.
Graduates of the Faculty’s postgraduate specialist training programs also received their certificates. During the spring semester, a total of 137 students successfully completed their final examinations across eight programs offered by the Adult Education Centre. The graduates acquired up-to-date, practical expertise in Agile Technical Project Management, EHS, Employment Rehabilitation, Information Security, Facility Management and Operations, Occupational Safety, PLC, and the English-language Humanitarian Operations Management program. The high quality of the programs and the dedication of their participants are reflected in the fact that 47 of the 137 graduates completed their studies with distinction.
Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering
More than 300 students successfully completed their final examinations at bachelor’s, master’s, and postgraduate specialist training levels and received their degrees and certificates at the graduation ceremony of the Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
The new graduates were welcomed by Dr. habil. Viktória Sugár, Vice-Rector for Education and Sustainable Development; Dr. István Németh, Dean of the Faculty; and, on behalf of the students, György Máté Riesz. Students who achieved outstanding academic results also received special certificates of recognition.
Keleti Károly Faculty of Business and Management
A total of 215 students graduated from the Keleti Károly Faculty of Business and Management in the spring semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Of these, 58 completed higher education vocational programs, 97 graduated from bachelor’s programs, and 60 earned master’s degrees.
Graduates of the Marketing, Business Development, and Enterprise Development master’s programs, as well as the Commerce and Marketing, Engineering Management, and Business Informatics bachelor’s programs and the Business Informatics higher education vocational program, received their degrees at the ceremony.
Dr. Gyula Szigeti, Vice-Rector for Scientific Coordination; Prof. Dr. Mónika Garai-Fodor, Dean of the Faculty; and the directors of the Faculty’s institutes congratulated the graduates. In her address, the Dean encouraged them to “stay curious, remain compassionate, preserve the joy of learning, and never forget that true success is measured not only by what you achieve, but also by the person you become along the way.” Outstanding academic work and excellent thesis defences were also recognized with special certificates from the Faculty.
Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering
Students of the Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering also demonstrated exceptional knowledge and preparedness, with a total of 80 Hungarian and international students successfully completing their studies.
In his ceremonial address, Dr. habil. László Koltai, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized how proud he was to see the graduates receive their engineering degrees as a result of their perseverance, hard work, and creativity. He noted that the Faculty’s mission has remained unchanged for more than fifty years: to educate highly qualified professionals capable of making our environment, the objects we use in our everyday lives, and our lives themselves safer, more comfortable, and more beautiful.
As they embark on their professional careers, he encouraged the graduates to embrace change, continue learning throughout their lives, and recognize the importance of human relationships. He emphasized that alongside the knowledge they have acquired, curiosity remains one of the most important catalysts for intellectual vitality and future success.

John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics
The Faculty also celebrated its graduating students at a memorable ceremony. During the summer final examination period, a total of 259 students successfully completed their studies, opening the way to the next stage of their professional careers.
Particularly strong results were achieved in the Faculty’s master’s and postgraduate specialist training programs. A total of 28 students graduated from the Data Science master’s program, 42 from the strategically important Cybersecurity Engineering program, and eight from the Hospital and Medical Engineering master’s program. Across the Hungarian- and English-language Computer Engineering master’s programs, 30 students successfully completed their studies, while 25 graduated from the English-language Business Informatics master’s program.
The Applied Mathematics master’s program was successfully completed by three students in the Hungarian-language program and two in the English-language program. In addition, one student completed the postgraduate specialist training program in Quality and Compliance Assurance for the Manufacturing and Distribution of Medical Devices.
The Faculty also welcomed a significant number of new bachelor’s graduates. A total of 99 students graduated from the Hungarian-language Computer Engineering bachelor’s program and eight from its English-language counterpart. Students at the Faculty’s regional study locations in Salgótarján and Kisvárda also successfully completed their studies, further strengthening the Faculty’s regional presence. Meanwhile, 13 students graduated from the Computer Science Operational Engineering bachelor’s program.

For many students, graduation marked the end of a long and defining chapter of their lives. Their perseverance, countless hours of study, and many sleepless nights ultimately paid off. Nearly 130 students graduated from the Ybl Miklós Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering across its bachelor’s, master’s, and postgraduate specialist training programs.
The graduation ceremony was held in two parts, with speakers including Dr. habil. Viktória Sugár, Vice-Rector for Education and Sustainable Development, and Prof. Dr. Anthony Gall, Dean of the Ybl Faculty, who congratulated the new graduates. In keeping with tradition, the graduates also took the engineers’ oath, marking their transition from university studies to their professional careers.
