A cooperation has been established between the Central Asian University (CAU) of Uzbekistan and Obuda University.

A delegation from the Central Asian University (CAU) in Tashkent visited Obuda University from December 2-4. The members of the delegation were Dr. Kakhramon Yusupov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of CAU, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at CAU. The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential collaboration opportunities and joint training programs between the two institutions. A key topic was the establishment of a double degree program, as well as the integration of cybersecurity education into CAU's academic offerings. On December 3, the delegation continued their journey to Székesfehérvár to visit the Alba Regia Campus.

The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of Obuda University, who assured the visitors that they could expect a fruitful collaboration from Obuda University. The discussions were held with Dr. György Eigner, Dean of the John von Neumann Faculty of Information Technology, who presented the opportunities the university has to offer. A key topic was the Double Degree program, which would enable students to complete their first and fourth years at CAU and their second and third years at Obuda University. The cybersecurity MSc program was also discussed, which is expected to play an important role in future joint educational areas.

The discussions between Obuda University and CAU

CAU, which offers education exclusively in English, provides unique opportunities for students to complete their studies in an international environment. The cooperation between the two universities not only strengthens their international relationships but also creates opportunities to deepen student exchange programs and joint research initiatives.

The foundations for the agreement were laid in 2023 when the two institutions discussed faculty and student mobility, joint research and development projects, and the establishment of double degree programs. The first important step was taken by Obuda University during its visit to Tashkent in October, where the leadership of both institutions held further discussions on potential joint programs and areas of cooperation.

The aim of the collaborative programs is to provide both institutions with advanced, internationally recognized educational opportunities that offer mutual benefits. CAU is committed to making world-class education more accessible in the Central Asian region, while Obuda University sees this cooperation as an opportunity to strengthen its international presence and provide students with closer ties to the Central Asian region. The partnership between Obuda University and CAU is expected to be long-term and mutually beneficial, ensuring international educational opportunities and scientific collaboration for both parties.

The Central Asian University (CAU) is Uzbekistan’s first private university, offering high-quality education in English to young people from Central Asia and beyond. The university currently has 2,300 students studying in various fields, including engineering, business, health, tourism, and dentistry. CAU is one of the most modern and best-equipped universities in the region, and is dedicated to not only offering education but also conducting innovative research.
