Obuda University Discussed Collaboration with One of China's Leading Technical Universities

Representatives from Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET) in southern China discussed cooperation opportunities with Obuda University on June 10. Prof. Dr. Imre Felde, Vice Rector for Industrial and Business Relations, expressed high hopes for establishing future joint projects, student exchange programs, and developing relations, as well as organizing international IEEE conferences together.

Prof. Dr. Imre Felde highlighted that Obuda University already maintains fruitful relationships with numerous Chinese partners and noted that the topics discussed included a dual degree program. According to the concept affecting master's programs, the course would simultaneously start at Obuda University and GUET, requiring students to spend at least one semester at the partner institution. Upon completing the program, students would earn two degrees simultaneously, one from the home institution and one from the partner institution.

The Chinese delegation was led by Zhou Ya, Vice President of GUET, who stated that in light of the partnership, their university would establish a research institute at Obuda University in the field of information and communication technology.

As part of short-term exchange programs, GUET plans to send 10 students annually for summer study visits and five students per semester to Obuda University.

The parties agreed to continue negotiations in the fall at GUET in China.
