International Educational Cooperation – Obuda University Hosts Uzbek University Lecturers Once Again
For the second time this year, Obuda University has welcomed groups of university lecturers from leading higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. The intensive programmes organised for two delegations of 20–21 participants each focused on developing language skills, sharing modern teaching methodologies, and introducing Hungarian culture and the values of Hungarian higher education.
Obuda University is committed to fostering international relations and promoting knowledge exchange. In this spirit, the latest professional programme provided lecturers from partner universities in Uzbekistan with an opportunity to expand their knowledge and professional experience at Obuda University.
The participants took part in interactive professional sessions led by the University’s English language instructors. Throughout the training, they were introduced to and applied modern pedagogical and communication methods that directly support their professional development and the enhancement of their own teaching practices. A distinctive feature of the professional modules was their contextual focus: the educational content was closely connected to Hungary’s history, cultural heritage and characteristics of everyday life.
A key highlight of the visit was the participants’ meeting with Prof. Dr. Levente Kovacs, Rector of Obuda University. The meeting provided an opportunity to emphasise the importance of bilateral higher education relations and to explore potential avenues for future cooperation.
The professional and methodological sessions were complemented by a rich programme of cultural and community activities. The guests had the opportunity to explore some of Budapest’s most significant and picturesque sites, including Buda Castle, City Park, Margaret Island, the Kiscelli Forest, and the Gül Baba Tomb, which is also of particular importance in the context of historical Hungarian–Ottoman relations. Through these sightseeing and leisure activities, the Uzbek lecturers were able to gain first-hand impressions of the Hungarian capital’s rich historical heritage, natural assets and cultural diversity.
Obuda University will continue to place strong emphasis on organising international training programmes and knowledge-exchange initiatives of this kind, further strengthening its global position in higher education and expanding its international network of partner institutions.
