A Broad Collaboration is Taking shape with Jiangnan University in China
The Senate Hall of Obuda University hosted a high-level diplomatic and professional meeting in which the leadership of our institution received a delegation from Jiangnan University. The primary aim of the visit was to establish contact between the two institutions and to outline the strategic framework for future cooperation in research and education. During the discussions, both parties presented their academic portfolios, with particular emphasis on research areas that are competitive on the international stage.
Located in the city of Wuxi, Jiangnan University is a prominent institution in Chinese higher education. With more than 30,000 students and 24 independend schools, the partner university demonstrates outstanding global performance in the fields of food science, biotechnology, and textile engineering.
During the discussions, several promising areas of cooperation were identified, inlucding the promotion of student and faculty mobility, the development of joint research projects and laboratory infrastructure, as well as collaboration in the field of intelligent textiles.
The parties also placed strong emphasis on opportunities for industrial collaboration and the joint organization of conferences. A particular focus area that emerged was the miltifaceted application of artificial intelligence, especially in healthcare, argicultural technology, and biotechnology. The discussion was further enriched by the active contribution of the Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering, which presented its developments related to sustainable design. In addition, the possibility of launching a dedicated summer university programme for Chinese students was also raised.
Participants of the meeting concluded that they had successfully laid the foundations for a broad, multidisciplinary collaboration. Following this initial engagement, the next step will be the detailed development of concrete projects and professional progrmmes. The event reaffirmed Obuda University's international openness and its commitment to active participation in the global scientific community.
