Delegations from Shanghai University and Shandong Jiaotong University Visit Obuda University
On May 22, 2025, Obuda University had the honour of welcoming delegations from two esteemed Chinese institutions: Shanghai University and Shandong Jiaotong University. The visits aimed to explore opportunities for academic collaboration and exchange.
Shanghai University Delegation
The Shanghai University delegation was led by Professor Xuemei Yu, Vice President, who presented the university’s key programmes and outlined its position within China’s Double First-Class initiative. As one of China’s top-tier universities, Shanghai University ranks 300th globally in the ARWU and is renowned for its strengths in mechanical engineering, chemistry, and materials science.
On behalf of Obuda University, Professor Dr. Péter Galambos, Vice-Rector for Innovation, introduced the university’s strategic research areas, including medical informatics and innovation initiatives such as the Obuda University Venture Capital (OUVC). Discussions highlighted potential cooperation in student mobility, joint research, IEEE conference organisation, and scholarly publication in Obuda University’s professional journals.
Shandong Jiaotong University Delegation
The Shandong Jiaotong University delegation was led by Professor Huaping Jiang, Vice President, and included senior representatives from academic and international offices. Founded in 1956, the university has over 20,000 students and a strong profile in engineering, transportation, and artificial intelligence.
Talks focused on faculty and student exchange, joint conferences, and the significance of building trust through academic collaboration. Both sides expressed interest in launching online training programmes accessible to students remotely and incorporating intercultural education in cooperation with Chinese industry partners.
