The Alba Regia Technical Faculty has received a robot arm

Thanks to the collaboration with Óbuda University that has been ongoing since 2016, ABB Engineering, Trading, and Service Ltd. offered an IRB 2400 robot arm for educational purposes to the Alba Regia Technical Faculty.

ABB collaborates with schools, colleges and universities in more than 40 countries to help students grasp the fundamentals of robot programming and operation. Recently, the company donated an IRB 2400 robot arm to the Alba Regia Technical Facultyfor educational purposes. This device was previously utilized at a company, named Adient. These robots find application in various industrial tasks such as product handling, machine tending, milling, and waterjet cutting. Another IRB 2400 and an IRB 1600 robot, used for various manufacturing functions including arc welding, machine tending, product handling, and grinding, were provided to the university by another ABB partner.

"The robot arms that have been donated will primarily serve practical educational purposes, but they will also be involved in research tasks. Our university's students, staff, industrial partners, future employees of the Science Park, and students from secondary schools in Székesfehérvár will all make use of these," said Dr. Károly Széll, Associate Professor of the Faculty.
