Balázs Adolf won medals at the World Kayak-Canoe Championship

Balázs Adolf, an electrical engineering student of Óbuda University won a gold and bronze medal in C-1 at 1K and 5K at the World Kayak-Canoe Championship, which ended on 19 September. The 22-year old athlete won his first World Cup gold.

Balázs previously won the age-appropriate world championship title, then in 2019 he won a silver medal at the World Flatwater Championships at 5K. However, the Olympics did not go according to plan. He had been preparing for C-2, but his partner, Dániel Fejes, fell ill, so they missed the final and he unfortunately did not make it until the final in individual either, about which he said: - If we look at the fact that I came only fifteenth in the Olympics, we can say that I performed poorly, however I only missed the final by 4 centiseconds. At the next Olympics I will definitely want to fight for the podium positions. I have to move forward with speed and strength. I would like to get to the Paris Olympics to compete in both indivdual and in pairs, - said Balázs, who is a student of the Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Óbuda University.
