Professors of Óbuda University received the Arany János Award

On May 5, 2021, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences awarded Prof. Dr. János Dusza and Prof. Dr. Alexandru Kristály, lecturers of Óbuda University, with the János Arany Prize.

The Arany János Award for Outstanding Scientific Performance was given to Hungarian researchers and scientists abroad who achieved exceptional scientific results. In 2021, two Óbuda University staff members received this recognition.

Prof. Dr. János Dusza, Professor of the Donát Bánki Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering and a core member of the Doctoral School of Materials Sciences and Technologies, an external member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, who, as a Slovak Hungarian, maintains very close relations with Budapest and the Slovak Higher Education and academic institutions. He graduated from Eötvös Loránd University and worked for the Materials Structure Research Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. He is currently a professor at the Technical University of Košice and president of the College of Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Technology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. He was the President of the Hungarian Academic Council of Slovakia (2013-2017) and now its Vice-President.

Prof. Dr. Alexandru Kristály, mathematician, professor of the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics, member of the Doctoral School of Applied Informatics and Applied Mathematics, doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He is a professor at the Babeş-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca and defended three doctoral dissertations in the field of mathematics. He was awarded the Bolyai Scholarship and the Bolyai Plaque of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, as well as the Babeş-Bolyai University Excellence Award.
