Prof. Dr. László Monostori

László Monostori is a Széchenyi Prize-winning Hungarian electrical engineer, university professor, full member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), and director of the Institute for Computer Science and Control (SZTAKI). In 1986, he obtained the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences. From 1990 to 1992, he was a guest researcher in Paderborn with a scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He habilitated at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 1995. Since 2000, he has been a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and a full member since 2016.

Between 1998 and 2002, he was the head of the Department of Integrated Mechanical Engineering Systems at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, BME, and from 2002 to 2007, he was the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Informatics. He has been a university professor since 2002. Between 1995 and 2014, he was the Deputy Scientific Director of SZTAKI, and since 2015, he has been its director. From 2010 to 2016, he was the director of the Fraunhofer Project Center for Production Management and Informatics, established in collaboration with the German Fraunhofer Society at SZTAKI.
