Course Description:
Diode and transistor logic circuits. Digital circuit families. Detailed analysis of a specific gate circuit. Electrical characteristics. Input and output circuit designs. Wired logic. Applications of Schmitt trigger. Transient phenomena in combinational networks: static, dynamic, and functional hazards. Hazard elimination. Basic flip-flops. Gated flip-flops. Master-slave flip-flops. Edge-triggered flip-flops. Flip-flop conversion. Synchronous and asynchronous counters. Design of synchronous counters. Preset counters. Variable modulus counters. Shift registers. Applications of shift registers.

Competences:
a) Knowledge Understands the general and specific mathematical, natural, and social science principles, rules, interrelations, and procedures necessary for practicing the field of electrical engineering. Knows the most important theories, interrelations, and terminology of the electrical engineering field. Understands the learning, knowledge acquisition, and data collection methods of the electrical engineering field, their ethical limits, and problem-solving techniques. b) Abilities Able to design, analyze, and troubleshoot electronic devices and systems. Able to process and utilize characteristic online and printed technical literature in Hungarian and foreign languages for engineering tasks. c) Attitude Strives to eliminate the deficiencies and risks of applied technologies. Strives for efficient and quality work. d) Autonomy and Responsibility Cooperates with technical field experts in implementing a given project under supervision. Supervises the operation of machines and equipment based on the guidance of their workplace manager.
