Prerequisites: 1 absolved semester related to architecture history, of urban history. IMPORTANT: Students can choose whether ONLY MSc (incl. YAROESFBNF) courses, or ONLY vertical studio courses! Exceptions we can make on individual decisions based on special requests, maximum for less than 50% of the courses - please contact our international coordinator.

Course Description:
The course is about the Architecture of the nineteenth century, from the late baroque until the turn of the century, and aims to enable the students to understand architecture, analyse space and form, function and structure. This course is tailored to the needs of architectural design by approaching eminent pieces of architecture from the viewpoint of function, building type and urban context.

Competences:
The course facilitates individual research, use of sources, libraries, electronical sources, it encourages teamwork of students, student initiative in the practical research work and in presentation of the obtained data.
