Course Description:
The course aims to introduce students to the main themes and questions of sociology.

Assessment: To get a grade it is compulsory to visit the lectures. There will be an attendance register, the level of absence cannot exceed the level written in TVSZ. Students are requested either to write a position paper (essay) or to give a ± 5 min. oral presentation on self selected tasks approved by the lecturer during the semester. The paper must be between 2500 – 3000 words long (without reference list.), and should be sent in electronically. A written, test-type exam will be held on the last week. Evaluation: up to 16 p (40%) = 1 17 to 20 p (50%) = 2 21 to 24 p (60%) = 3 25 to 32 p (80%) = 4 33 to 40 p (100%) = 5 Attention, please! The requirements to fulfil the semester may change due to the possibility of changes in the educational form (off-line to on-line and vice versa).
