Obuda University Researchers Once Again Among the World’s Top Scientists – Ranked in the Top 2% on the Stanford/Elsevier List

Researchers from Obuda University have once again been recognised among the global scientific elite, according to the latest Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List, jointly published by Stanford University in California and Elsevier. This year, seven researchers represent Obuda University in the internationally recognised ranking.

The ranking published by Stanford University and Elsevier identifies the top 2% of researchers worldwide based on citation metrics. The analysis evaluates research performance across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields. Rather than focusing solely on publication productivity, the composite indicator used for the selection (c-score) places greater emphasis on actual scientific impact. It takes into account independent citations, the h-index, the co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, as well as authorship positions.

This year, the database once again assesses research performance in two separate categories: Single Year, which measures impact over a single year, and Career Data, which reflects cumulative impact over an entire scientific career.

Based on the latest one-year citation data for scientists worldwide, covering 2025, five researchers from Obuda University are included in this year’s ranking. The researchers recognised for their single-year performance are Prof. Dr Levente Kovács, Rector of Obuda University; Prof. Dr Tamás Haidegger; Dr habil. József Katona; Prof. Dr Andrea Tick; and Dr Amir Mosavi.

The Career Data ranking, which assesses researchers’ overall body of work and cumulative impact throughout their scientific careers, includes six researchers affiliated with Obuda University: Prof. Dr Levente Kovács, Rector of Obuda University; Prof. Dr Imre Rudas, Founding Rector; Prof. Dr Tamás Haidegger; Dr habil. József Katona; Dr Amir Mosavi; and Prof. Dr János Fodor.
