In the organization’s 2026 listings, the university is ranked in four key subject areas, clearly reflecting the international recognition of its research and teaching excellence. Notably, the institution has strengthened its standing, further reinforcing its regional role.
In Computer Science, Obuda University is ranked in the 501–600 band, confirming the internationally competitive quality of its IT education and research. In Engineering, the institution maintains a stable position in the 601–800 band, placing it within the global elite. Particularly noteworthy results were achieved in Education, where the university was ranked among the world’s top 301–400 institutions. This distinction confirms that, despite its primarily technical focus, the university’s pedagogical approaches and engineering teacher training programs are competitive on a global scale.
Commenting on the results, Rector Levente Kovács emphasized that the 2026 data clearly demonstrate the university’s ability not only to maintain but also to improve its international standing through a deliberate and strategic development path. He noted that, at the national level, this performance places Obuda University among the leading technically oriented higher education institutions, ensuring strong international value for graduates’ degrees and enhanced opportunities for researchers to engage in global scientific collaboration. The rector highlighted that a key driver of the university’s success is the effectiveness of knowledge transfer, its ability to translate scientific results into market- and industry-oriented innovation.
