Obuda University and CSUST Strengthen Their Strategic Partnership

During Obuda University’s visit to Changsha University of Science and Technology (CSUST), Rector Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács was awarded the title of honorary professor. The delegation also held talks on launching joint training programmes, integrating artificial intelligence into teaching, setting up a joint working group and joint laboratories, and expanding student mobility and research cooperation.

A highlight of Obuda University’s visit to Changsha University of Science and Technology (CSUST) was the award of the title of honorary professor to Rector Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács. The honour recognises him personally, but it also reflects the importance of the academic ties and cooperation the two universities have built so far. The Rector stressed that the recognition opens new opportunities to strengthen their joint education and research initiatives.

In a lecture to CSUST students from a range of disciplines, Rector Kovács shared his thoughts and professional experience. Drawing on his own career, he described tools, strategies and approaches that can help students build a successful academic and professional path.

The delegation continued talks begun the previous day on the content and structure of planned joint training programmes. The two universities aim to ensure high-quality education, align their curricula and keep developing their programmes through knowledge sharing, exchange of experience and coordinated work. The new programmes could also lead to wider cooperation, including student mobility, joint research and RDI projects, and symposia and professional events for students, lecturers and researchers. Chinese students from CSUST have already taken part in Obuda University’s summer programmes and gave very positive feedback.

Topics of the discussions included regular professional consultations, projects to improve the quality of education, the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching, and the development of related training programmes.

The parties also discussed setting up a joint working group with representatives of both universities. The group would meet regularly to review current issues and prepare proposals for developing the partnership. Key goals include establishing joint laboratories and strengthening cooperation between lecturers and researchers.

The talks are set to continue at the end of October, when a CSUST delegation visits Hungary. That meeting will be an opportunity to clarify shared objectives, prepare the planned training programmes and further deepen the strategic partnership between the two universities.
