A Strategic Milestone in Space Research Cooperation

The relationship between Obuda University and the American space company Voyager Technologies has reached a significant level: we have greatly expanded the cooperation launched last year in several stategic directions.

The American side of the cooperation has been further deepened with the VISTA (Voyager Institute for Space, Technology and Advancement) Space Park in Ohio, and the expertise of Starlab Space, which develops future space stations. On the domestic side, members of the Hungarian SpaceLab Network, founded last summer - eight Hungarian universities and HUN-REN SZTAKI - have joined the initiative, making for a multilateral collaboration.

At the podium are Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of Obuda University, and Prof. Dr. Miklós Kozlovszky, director of the Obuda University Space Lab.

The agreement was signed during Obuda University Space Day. The hybrid format of the event, which combined in-person presence with online participants in Washington and Houston, reflected the international scale and innovative approach of the partnership

„Our goal is to boost space industry research and development by joining forces with actors from the domestic academic sphere and to open doors for our students and researchers to global space technology projects. I am convinced that through this partnership, our institution will become a key player in future space research innovations,” – emphasized Obuda University Rector Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács during the signing.

Representing Voyager Technologies, Jeffrey Manber, President of International Affairs and Space Stations, prasied the joint successes of the past year and expressed confidence that the current expansion will bring new scientific and technological achievements for both parties.
