New Uzbek Mobility Cooperation Underway

A delegation from the Uzbek Ministry of Innovation and Higher Education visited our university to prepare for the launch of a new mobility programme. The purpose of the discussions was to establish a student, faculty–student, and research exchange programme to be hosted at Obuda University.

The delegation included Deputy Minister Shahrukh Daliev and Rasulbek Otaxhanov, Coordinator for International Higher Education Relations. Representing Obuda University were Prof. Dr Zoltán Rajnai, General Vice‑Rector; Prof. Dr András Molnár, Director of IT; and Antal Németh, Rector’s Commissioner. The Hungarian side presented a professional portfolio outlining study options available to Uzbek applicants.

Obuda University plans to welcome a total of 50 participants, including BSc, MSc, and PhD students, as well as academic staff. The program will feature short-term stays (3–4 weeks) and medium- to long-term mobility (six months to one year). Financing was reviewed in preliminary talks, and a draft Letter of Intent is being prepared detailing mutual financial expectations and funding mechanisms.

This strategically important meeting reaffirms Obuda University’s commitment to international cooperation. The launch of this mobility programme will deepen intercultural ties and scientific collaboration between Hungary and Uzbekistan. The next phase involves carrying out administrative preparations, finalising the programme’s structure, and concluding financial arrangements.
