Higher Education Fair - New Opportunities in Indonesia
Obuda University was represented at the European Higher Education Fair held in Yogyakarta and Jakarta, Indonesia, where opportunities were provided to meet with potential students and leading educational institutions, laying the foundation for future, fruitful collaborations. Strengthening these relationships is particularly important for the university’s students, as they can take advantage of mobility programs at partner universities in Indonesia through the Pannonia Program, either short-term or long-term.
Obuda University, ranked as the best Hungarian engineering university in the QS 2025 rankings, is opening new opportunities for collaboration with leading universities worldwide. We aim to fully leverage and further strengthen our growing role in global engineering education.
The program organized by Tempus began in Yogyakarta on October 29 at the country's second-highest ranked university, Universitas Gadjah Mada, where discussions on possible collaborations took place. This was followed by a visit to the top-ranked university in Indonesia, Universitas Indonesia in Jakarta (QS 2025 ranking: 206), on November 4, where we deepened our relations and discussed joint initiatives. During the Study in Hungary Partner meeting, we established contacts with additional institutions, including ITS Surabaya University, where we began exploring joint research opportunities within the Science Techno Park, and Prahyangan Catholic University, which holds promising prospects for future cooperation.
At the European Higher Education Fair held in Yogyakarta and Jakarta, our stand attracted over 100 visitors daily, who were eager to learn about our English-language BSc, MSc, and PhD programs in IT, Business, and Engineering. During the busy professional program, we also visited leading private secondary schools, such as Sekolah Cikal Amri and Kinderfield Highfield School HF Bekasi Campus, where we presented Obuda University as an outstanding option for students considering studying abroad.
These events reflect Obuda University’s commitment to becoming a renowned destination for Indonesian students seeking European studies. Our presence and the development of new relationships contribute to our mission of establishing valuable academic collaborations, thus providing ambitious Indonesian students with opportunities to achieve successful international careers.
For our students, these connections are also of great importance, as they can participate in short- or long-term mobility programs at our partner universities in Indonesia through the Pannonia Program. This will expand their knowledge, enrich their cultural experiences, and provide them with unique perspectives, which they will bring back to Hungary, adding value not only to their own professional development but also to the university community,” added de Nemesker Györgyi.
