Obuda University Researchers Among the Elite Club of Scientists

Each year, an increasing number of researchers from Obuda University are ranked in the citation index of Stanford University in California. Among the most highly cited scientists in the world for 2024 are Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of Obuda University, Prof. Dr. Tamás Haidegger, CEO of Initium Zrt., Dr. Prof. János Fodor, former Rector of Obuda University who passed away in 2016, Prof. Dr. László Szilágyi, Dr. Amir Mosavi, all of whom are also faculty members at the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics, Dr. habil. Stanford University publishes a database of more than 100,000 researchers – approximately 2% of the world's scientists – providing standardized information on citations, the h-index, the co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, and citations for papers based on different authorship positions. The data includes both career-long and single-year impact metrics.

The ranking is released in two versions: in addition to the list of the most cited researchers for 2024, the cumulative impact up to the end of 2024 is also assessed, taking into account the scientists' entire body of work and the citations these publications have garnered over time. Seven researchers affiliated with Obuda University are included in this ranking: Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Prof. Dr. Imre Rudas, founding Rector of Obuda University, Prof. Dr. Tamás Haidegger, Prof. Dr. Annamária Várkonyi-Kóczy, Chair of the University Doctoral and Habilitation Council, Prof. Dr. János Fodor, Prof. Dr. László Szilágyi, and Dr. Amir Mosavi.

Among the distinguished professors of Obuda University's Excellence Program, two Australian scientists, Amir Gandomi and Seyedali Mirjalili, also made it onto Stanford's list of the world’s most highly cited researchers.
