In cooperation with Dekra Akademie Kft for the future of quality engineering

Dekra Akademie Kft. considers the safety of engineering and IT systems paramount, thus it pays great attention to the development and support of the Hungarian engineering and management educational programs. Its goal is to enlarge their pool of highly qualified professionals to work for the safety of the workplaces of the future through their work-environment measurements, audit tests and technical expert activities. To facilitate this, the leaders of Óbuda University and the company signed a cooperation agreement on December 7.



The University Research and innovation Center’s (EKIK) expanding circle of cooperating partners now includes Dekra Akademie Kft., a domestic subsidiary of the well-known German DEKRA. The company is planning a significant expansion in the region, therefore the management of Óbuda University was willing to start a formal cooperation with the company. The partners will negotiate a full agenda of bilateral programs. The cooperation includes joint professional and training projects, participation in the University's undergraduate and graduate programs, the submission of joint grant applications, applied research work and the opening of vocational professional training positions. The long-term goal is also to develop a joint student-professor scholarship system. Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács rector said that the Óbuda University is committed to meet the needs of the Hungarian industry for a highly-qualified engineering workforce, constantly maintaining and renewing its educational portfolio to better suit the needs of students and their future employers. Tobias Steinig, head of the Nearshore Center of EMEA DEKRA Akademie Kft. expressed that their goal with this cooperation is also to find and embrace talents, and to ensure reinforcements of the future experts. The cooperation agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of Óbuda University, Chancellor Gabriella Ormándi, Dr. Tamás Haidegger, Director of EKIK, and Tobias Steinig, Head of the Nearshore Center of EMEA DEKRA Akademie Kft.
