Obuda University Representation at Sapientia University
On October 4th, Prof. Dr. Enikő Maior, Vice-Rector for Education, represented Obuda University in Csíkszereda at the prestigious "University Day" event organized by Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania. Sapientia is a key partner of Obuda University.
Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania celebrated the anniversary of its first academic year. At the University Day, a tradition since 2012, Rector Dr. Márton Tonk greeted the attendees. In his address, he remarked, "Today, Sapientia has become a stable and indispensable institution in Hungarian higher education across the Carpathian Basin, offering competitive and attractive professional and academic quality." The rector also shared the exciting news that in 2025, the Faculty of Csíkszereda will host the only cross-border section of the National Scientific Students' Associations Conference. During the celebration, the Teller Ede Medal, honorary professorship titles, professor emeritus/emerita titles, and rectorial commendations were awarded.
Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania is a key partner of Obuda University. During the institution's commemorative University Day in 2022, Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács was awarded the title of Honorary Professor by Rector Dr. Márton Tonk and Professor László Dávid. In his acceptance speech, Prof. Kovács emphasized, “Obuda University has always prioritized the development of professional, teaching, and student relations with Sapientia, founded in 2001." For Prof. Kovács, strengthening technical education in the Hungarian language in his homeland, Transylvania, is a personal mission. He further highlighted this goal by referencing the (Transylvanian) Scientific Technical Student Conference, which he founded 25 years ago as a university student in Timișoara. "We continue to support and actively participate in this initiative," he added.
