More Freshmen to Enroll Compared to Last Year
A Record Number of 3,785 Freshmen to Begin Studies at Obuda University in September. Following the announcement of admission scores, Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács shared that a record number of 3,785 freshmen will commence their studies across the seven faculties of Obuda University in September. According to the Rector, the institution's popularity is attributed to the introduction of new programs that align with market demands and industry development trends in rapidly evolving fields requiring high-level expertise.
By the end of the current admissions process, 3,785 applicants received notifications of their successful admission to Obuda University. Compared to last year’s figures, this represents an overall increase of approximately 3.42%. This growth comes despite the requirement of advanced-level final exams for most undergraduate programs and the university’s continued enforcement of minimum entry scores to ensure high-quality education. The most popular undergraduate programs were Computer Engineering (with a score threshold of 382), Electrical Engineering (270), Mechanical Engineering (258), and Architecture (346).
Overall, there has been a significant increase in interest in technical fields, and substantial progress has been made in master’s programs, reflected in record application numbers. The decision by the university’s leadership to restructure the educational offerings, including increasing the number of master’s programs, has proven successful. Notably, the newly introduced Cybersecurity Engineering and Data Science programs were the most popular, emphasized the Rector.ű
Obuda University has always prioritized providing high-quality education at regional locations. In addition to the Székesfehérvár campus, there were many applicants for the programs announced in Salgótarján, Kaposvár, and the new location in Cegléd. The Rector stated that Obuda University considers it a fundamental task to support talented young people in the region by providing locally accessible degrees and to strengthen the economic development of these areas.
Obuda University will also offer additional admissions for several programs, with the central process starting on July 30.
