Cooperation on mobility programmes in the Far East outlined
The leaders of the Obuda University held talks with a delegation from the Zhengzhou Unviersity of Light Industry, China on the launch of international student and faculty mobility programmes, joint training and research and development ideas. At the same time, another Chinese delegation arrived at the Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering. In line with my rectorial strategy, we pay special attention to the quality of international student programmes and we are committed to increasing the proportion of international graduate students in our programmes," said Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of Obuda University, in connection with the visit of the Chinese delegation.
He added that our bilateral cooperation could be launched with a research and development and student-teacher mobility programme. The two universities have links mainly in the fields of electrical engineering, information technology and light industry. In the course of our discussions, we decided to set up a joint research group and I proposed to submit a joint Erasmus+ application.
Prof. Dr. Zhang Xiao, Vice Rector of Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, introduced the institution and the members of his delegation. He said the institution has an excellent teaching staff and infrastructure. Since its foundation, ZZULI has had a global perspective on education and has supported international and regional academic exchanges and cooperation in many fields. Prof. Dr. Zhang Xiao emphasized that internationalization and the integration of Central European knowledge is important to them.
Zhengzhou University of Light Industry is centrally located in Hernan Province. With a history of nearly 40 years as an internationally renowned university, ZZULI has now developed into a multidisciplinary, engineering-centred university that promotes the coordinated development of various disciplines such as liberal arts, economics, management, law and education.
Visit of a Chinese delegation to the Bánki Faculty
A large delegation arrived at the Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering, where several Chinese students studying at Obuda University introduced themselves, and also renowned organisations and companies such as the Central and Eastern Europe-China Science and Technology Exchange Association, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association of Hungary, and the Central European Trade and Logistics Cooperation Zone were represented.
The meeting was organised by Wu Yue, a doctoral student of our university, with the aim of strengthening the ties between Hungarian and Far Eastern students, and to exchange study and life experiences. During the event, opportunities for cooperation and exploring joint mobility and research projects were discussed.
Prof. Dr. László Gulácsi, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, welcomed the participants on behalf of Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector, and presented the Obuda University, especially with regard to the progress in international rankings.
Tibor Bial, Director General for International Affairs, suggested to the Chinese students to get to know Obuda University and its students as well as Budapest and Hungary as much as possible. He added that their knowledge and experience could help them to introduce us to their fellow students who would like to come and study at our university.
Prof. Dr. Zoltán Rajnai, Dean of the Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering, offered the members of the Chinese delegation the possibility of cooperation, exploring possible investment opportunities and invited them to cooperate in the future in the science parks of the OU, in certain projects.
