ÓE cooperates with South Korean and Kazakh universities

Obuda University’s delegation visited Seoul, Gwangju in South Korea and took part in the events of several universities in Kazakhstan on June 15 and 16 led by Rector Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács.

Obuda University’s delegation visited Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and Gwangju, the center of the country's Southern region, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács.

 

The members of the delegation discussed further possible cooperation with Chung-ang University (CAU) in Seoul, and with the local University of Science and Technology (GIST) in Gwangju. With the well-equipped laboratories and research workshops operating at CAU, joint projects can be started in, for example, systems engineering, engineering informatics, medical technology, artificial intelligence, material sciences and other STEAM fields - said the rector of OU. Gwangju University of Science and Technology (GIST) is an internationally recognized higher education institution and research center listed among the world's top 200 universities. Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács said that they discussed with Professor Hyosung Ahn about their joint alternative energy training courses with Samsung, as well as the joint possibilities in electronics research and development and biotechnology research.



In Kazakhstan, we are now in contact with universities in four cities, and we continue to cooperate more and more closely – said Rector Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, who took part in the events of several universities in Kazakhstan with Prof. Dr. András Molnár, General Vice-Rector. The rector said that in addition to Astana's two universities and Almaty's three universities, development cooperation and student and staff mobility with research and development can continue and begin with one institution in Eskemen and one in Karaganda. As a result of previous negotiations, more than ten students will come from the Central Asian country next academic year.
