Course Description:
The aim of the course is to develop students\\\' technical English language competence in order to find their place in an internationalized world during their work. Vocabulary development tasks embedded in technical language topics, reading, listening comprehension, and speaking skills are all emphasized during the course. The main topics are supplemented with grammar exercises, sometimes highlighting the use of certain linguistic phenomena, such as certain fixed phrases, the role of different tenses, or even the passive structure.

1. week: Jobs / Present Simple
2. week: Measurements, defects; Project planning, comparisons
3. week: Gadgets, cause and effect; Explaining what happened, Past Simple, rises and falls
4. week: Troubleshooting, repairs, Present Continuous; Wh-questions, numbers
5. week: Explaining rules, making things work, damage; Safety hazards, instructions
6. week: Test 1
7. week: Shapes, equipment vocabulary; Testing, Present passive,
8. week: Warnings, making suggestions; giving directions
9. week: Dimensions, quantities; making arrangements, writing emails
10. week: Discussing logistics, recycling; vocabulary of machine parts
11. week: Students’ Project Presentations
12. week: Test 2
13. week: Re-sits
Assessment: 2 written final theses from the semester material and a presentation based on individual project work.
