Course Description:
The course aims to enable the students to understand architecture, analyse space and form, function
and structure. This course is tailored to the needs of architectural design by approaching eminent
pieces of architecture from the viewpoint of function, building type and urban context. In addition, the
course facilitates individual research, use of sources, libraries, electronic sources, it encourages team
work of students, student initiative in the practical research work and in presentation of the obtained
data.
Competences:
able to sort, observe, and analyse information collected during the design, implementation and operational processes, and to conclude the lessons, including the feedback into practice

2. week: Museums II (Buildings designed for other purposes adapted later to be museums)

6. week: Concert halls
7. week: Modern churches and memorial places
8. week: Townhalls, office buildings
9. week: Buildings of education
10. week: Buildings of traffic I (airports)

14. week: Historic summary of the evolution of building types
