Obuda University is the technical university with the best research quality (Reseach Quality) in the V4 region in THE's latest 2024 ranking
The Obuda University has once again been ranked among the world's top 1200 higher education institutions in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2024 rankings published yesterday, and remains among the top 4% of the world's "elite universities". Obuda University, still ranked fourth among the eleven Hungarian institutions, was again ranked in the 1001-1200th range as the best Hungarian university of technology, said Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of Obuda University. In praising the performance of Obuda University, the rector highlighted the university's advancement in the quality of research and the assessment of the research environment. What is more, in the Research Quality indicator, Obuda University is the best technical university in the entire V4 region. The authors of the ranking also ranked Obuda University among the best universities in Hungary in terms of international prospects.
In addition to raising the quality of education, great emphasis has been placed on strengthening research and development and industrial relations, said Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács. Another important factor in the progress of Obuda University has been the significant increase in the number of staff with scientific qualifications and the fact that more and more internationally renowned scientists are joining the research network of Obuda University every year. These factors have also contributed to the significant strengthening of Obuda University in the indicators measuring the quality of research and the research environment - analysed the Rector, pointing out that according to the Research Quality indicator, Obuda University is the best technical university in the V4 region, the 3rd best among the 11 Hungarian universities ranked, after Semmelweis University and ELTE, and as for the world ranking of Research Quality, it is 8th in the V4 and 867th in the world.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 include 108 countries and regions. The ranking is open only to research-intensive and globally oriented universities and is the most comprehensive, balanced and rigorous benchmarking system in the world, using and measuring institutions against 17 performance indicators.
